GOVERMENT URGED TO RELEASE SCHOOLS CAPITATION AS OVER 3000 STUDENTS AFFECTED BY INSECURITY,FLOODS AND DROUGHT RECEIVE 24 MILLION BURSERIES FROM CDF

The insecurity in Baringo,the floods that left people displaced and drought are the challenges many parents are faced with towards education of their children as these challenges have left many families impoverished. From primary to secondary education in Baringo south has been  more of a luxurious need with residents battling with real time and annual challenges.Many residents are displaced thus cant afford to pay fees for their kids. With the opening of form one over 3000 in the affected region of Arabal,mukutani,kiserian and ilchamus ward which for them to realize continue with their education was a myriad dream benefited from 24 million worth of constituency development funds bursaries to enable them further their studies. The students who were affected by insecurity,floods,drought where parents depend on livestock sale as a source of income,could hardly take their children to school but with the bursary it was a reprieve to them.

Speaking during the handing over of cheques Baringo south mp Charles Kamuren said 3000 pupils from their entire constituency could hardly continue with their studies which was not good signs of their future since the current century invest much on education and shifting of technology.He noted one way of finishing banditry in Baringo south was only through education transformation. On his side principal of Nyimbei secondary school where many students take it as a refuge home said 200 students in the school alone would not continue with studies for lack of fees which means the institution could have been closed because they could not run the school and with the bursaries has given the school a life line. With the opening of form one the Government has been urged to release capitations to allow schools to run as many parents are still realing from the effects of covid 19
