DP Ruto hits out at Matiang’i and Kibicho.

Deputy President William Ruto and a host of Mps and Senators have warned the CS for Interior Fred Matiang’i and his PS Karanja Kibicho that their days are numbered. A day after Turkish investor Harun Aydin was arrested, the leaders attributed the move to the two, noting that this would not intimidate them. This came as some of the Mps alleged of a plot to eliminate Ruto using the terror excuse as part of a wider scheme to lock him from the next general elections. This emerged when Ruto led the leaders in a church service in St Joseph Catholic Church in Karagita Naivasha. Addressing the worshipers, Ruto accused some people in the government of using the criminal system to arrest and antagonize those perceived to be opposed to the State. He noted that due to the wrangles, the government had lost its focus with the Big Four agenda collapsing at the expense of politics. “We promised Kenyans jobs, universal health care and houses but all this has been forgotten as we continue to fight Mps, investors and those perceived to be anti-government,” he said.

The DP noted that due to the wrangles, the mwananchi had been forgotten with more Kenyans losing jobs and farming headed to its knees. “It has now become the norm to arrest some Mps and other investors and we should not allow petty wrangles to divide Kenyans based on political differences,” he said. During the church service, Ruto defended the first five years he was in office noting that they had made Naivasha an industrial City. “Our plans to make Naivasha an industrial City are now bearing fruits with SGR ferrying goods to the dry port and the cheap geothermal power will come in handy for investors,” he said. Kikuyu Mp Kimani Ichungwa revisited the arrest of the Turkish investor on allegations of terrorist’s allegations terming this as a move to criminalize enterprises. He wondered how the investor got a working permit from the State, noting that there was a criminal cartel that was working from the office of the president to antagonize those close to the DP. “We fear that this cartel is trying to use the terror charges to eliminate the DP but we have to tell them the truth that this government has failed,” he said. This was echoed by his Mathira counterpart Rigathi Gachagua who blamed the current crisis in the country to Matiang’i and Kibicho. “Matiang’i and Kibicho are fully to blame for turning this country into a dictatorial State but they should read history and know that one day they will be ordinary Kenyans,” he said. Others who spoke were Mps Jane Kihara, Benjamin Washiali, Alice Wahome, Faith Gitau, Kimani Ngunjiri, Purity Ngirici among others with all backing the DP for 2022.
