Boda boda operators in Madogo ward, Tana River County have held peaceful demonstrations to protest the poor state of Madogo – Balambala road.
The operators alleged that the poor state of the road has caused countless accidents, which have left some of their colleagues and customers dead or hospitalized
They are now calling on the government agencies in charge of roads and the county government to move with speed and repair the road, which provides a source of livelihood 
for the riders.
“We are calling on the county and national governments to repair this road within 2 weeks. We have lost a lot of lives by road accidents and we cannot continue like this when we have elected leaders,” Salim Abubarkar – a youth leader
“We have an MCA and MP whom we elected since 2013 and it is like they have neglected us. They have not brought any development in this ward for those years. Our roads are impassable and they are nowhere to be seen,” lamented another resident.
