Police in Kisii Central sub county have arrested an imposter suspected to be sitting the form four examination which kicked off today at a secondary school in the area.
The suspect, Brian Angwenyi, a third year student at Kisii University was allegedly passing as Martin Nyamweya, the candidate, who had enrolled at Kimabundu mixed secondary school private exam centre.
Exam supervisor and invigilators alerted the police upon suspecting the suspect could be an imposter and not the genuine candidate.
Kisii sub county police commander, Peter Kimani confirmed the incident saying the suspect was being processed for arraignment in court tomorrow.
He said police were on high alert to ensure impersonators in the KCSE were identified and nabbed to face the law of the land.
This followed a stern warning from Education ministry CS Prof George Magoha that any exam irregularities will dealt with firmly.
