Migori County in partnership with Ripple Effect- Non Governmental Organization and Rongo University have organised an innovation exhibition to enlighten and train Migori farmers.
Professor Daniel Nyamau of Rongo University stated that they have moved classes from the lecture halls to the farmer’s field as the based way for innovation.
He noted that showcasing of innovation exhibition will help the Migori farmers to upgrade their ideas from concept development to practical application.
Professor Nyamau highlighted that if innovative knowledge is shared it can greatly help boost the economic development of the county through the agricultural sector.
He added that bee farming, otherwise known as ‘apiary’ was a very productive component that entrepreneurs and farmers should embrace as a diversification.
“There is a lot of vegetation everywhere that can sustain bee farming without incurring any economical or technological costs, stated Prof. Nyamau.
