A Nairobi Naboka Sacco matatu yesterday morning mysteriously burst into flames along the busy Lang’ata road.The matatu was headed to Lang’ata from the city centre and went up in flames opposite Langata Hospital.
According to Langata OCPD Elijah Mwangi, the bus driver reported that he first heard some screeching sounds then decided to park the vehicle on the roadside.
“They all got out. Before the driver could establish what the problem was, the matatu was up in flames,” said Mwangi.
Mr Mwangi confirmed that no one was injured and police had impounded the 23-seater vehicle for further investigations.
