Shiundu said they received a report from good Samaritans that there was a woman who was stealing young children in the area and the members of the public had decided to punish her by beating her thoroughly.
The police boss said they rushed to the area to rescue the woman who had been wrapped with a rope on her legs and had severe wounds all over her body.
They immediately rescued the woman and took her to the Narok County Referral Hospital for treatment where she was confirmed to be mentally disabled.
Unfortunately, Shiundu said there was no incident of a missing child that had been reported in the entire county wondering where the residents were getting the information from.
He said the police are investigating the matter so as to arrest those involved in the tragic incident, warning residents not to take the law into their hands.
