One of the most famous and controversial Pakistan social media stars, Qandeel Baloch was reportedly strangled to death by her brother in what police are calling a case of so called “honor killing, local media reported.
Baloch is said to have been murdered in her family’s home in the city of Multan Punjab province after he had protested at the “kind of pictures she had been posting online.”
Her father, Muhammed Azeem reported her death to her police who afterwards arrested on the run brother.
The star used to share her videos discussing hairstyles and cooing confessions from her bedroom about celebrity crushes.
She had nearly 780,000 Facebook followers. In her old posts she encouraged her audience to challenge old practices of Pakistan Society.
in one of her latest facebook post on July 4th, Baloch said “At least international media can see what i am upto. How i am trying to change the typical orthodox mindset of people who don’t wanna come out of their shells of false beliefs and old practices.”
She also went on and thanked her fans in the same post for ‘understanding’ her message.
Thank you my believers and supporters for understanding the message i try to convey through my bold posts and videos. It’s time to bring a change because the world is changing. let’s open our minds and live in present,” Late Baloch wrote.
On the morning she was murdered, Qandeel had shared a picture of herself staring defiantly into the camera, wearing a pair of leopard print pants and a black tank top.
She had written that she was a fighter. “I will bounce back,” she said, adding she wanted to inspire women who have been “treated badly and dominated by society.”
