Former Independent Electoral Boundaries Commission(IEBC) Chairman Wafula Chebukati has
threatened to take Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition Leader Raila Odinga to court over claims that some
Commissioners visited his house in Karen, Nairobi before the announcement of the 2022 presidential election.

In a demand letter dated 31, January, Chebukati demanded the Azimio leader to release the footage he claims to have in seven days or go to court. Raila made the allegations during the Jacaranda Rally, where he said that Wafula Chebukati, Boya Molu and Abdi Guliye visited his house before the presidential results were announced.
“I want to ask you, what did you come to do at my house? What did you ask of me? And I have footage for that. You play with me, and I will release it,” Odinga remarked.
In the letter signed by Chebukati’s lawyer Steve Ogolla, the former IEBC chair threatened to take legal actions if the video is not produced within the stipulated time.
“Our instructions are to demand from you, as of right, which we hereby do, to be furnished with the alleged video footage within seven days from the date hereof. Kindly take notice that if we do not receive the video footage demanded herein above, within the demand period, we shall be constrained to institute appropriate adverse but lawful proceedings against you,” stated the letter.
The allegations by the former Prime Minister were also commented on by President William Ruto who challenged him to prove his claims.
“You had an opportunity to bring up this claim of alleged bribery before the seven judges of the Supreme Court, and you did not. You chose to announce it in a rally. If it is true, what were these officials doing at your house in the first place,” Ruto stated.
