President Ruto Launches Another Water Project

President Ruto has commissioned the Ithanga Water Supply Project. The water supply is projected to serve more than 20,000 households in Gatanga Constituency, Murang’a County.

“We are taking clean drinking water to every household so that people can live longer and healthier. Sustained access to sufficient water supply will also keep our children in school and accelerate our country’s economic growth,” he said in a speech at the event in Ithanga.

The project is part of his government’s plan to upscale investment in sustainable water-related infrastructure. The President noted that he was committed to working with all leaders, their political stand notwithstanding, to empower Kenyans.

In March 2023, commissioned the Kisii Town Water Supply Project, Kegati Water Treatment Plant in Kisii County affirming it would increase the capacity of the plant from 6,500 to 27,000 cubic meters per day.

In April 2023, he commissioned the Ksh 2.7 Billion Mavoko Water Supply Project and asserted that upon completion it would serve more than 500,000 people in Mavoko, Athi River, Mlolongo and Syokimau.
