Elsa Majimbo sent shockwaves through social media as she unveiled details of her strained relationship with fashion icon and supermodel Naomi Campbell.

In a trending revelation that has captivated online audiences, Majimbo claimed that her fallout with Naomi Campbell led her into depression and alcoholism. Elsa also claims that major setbacks in her career came from the influence of another black woman (Naomi Campbell) and not incompetence.

The two celebrities met in 2020 when the British supermodel Naomi Campbell was in Kenya for a holiday. The duo met for vacation in Malindi where Naomi Campbell suggested they collaborate on a documentary about Elsa leaving Kenya.

According to Naomi Campbell, they ended up shooting a no-filter episode whereby Elsa expressed her journey as a female comedian in Kenya and the support she received at the time. Unbeknownst to Campbell, Elsa had already shot a documentary about her journey growing up with bullying, and colorism, and why she fell in love with comedy that was to be debuted at the Tribeca Film Festival.

This specific documentary would be the cause of their fallout. Campbell was invited to the Tribeca Film Festival to view Elsa’s documentary, and she became upset, believing it was the same documentary she had recommended to Elsa, and which they had already started filming Malindi.

Campbell threatened to sue Majimbo for the rights to the film and cut her off completely. Majimbo’s attempts to explain herself and apologize were met with indifference. It was after their altercation that Majimbo started drinking and according to her, things in her career were just not working out.

Majimbo has since pulled down her post from her X page. She however states, ” I stand by my words. Content in my decision. The tweets are deleted due to seeking peace, not fear. All need to understand this is something that has happened since I was 19. My goal now is happiness.”

A section of netizens believe the post was pulled down due to potential detrimental effects to her career while others believe she was bullied into pulling down the post.

In the video, Majimbo also claims that she thought a major reason why things were not working out in her career was because of her fallout with Campbell. “Having someone like Naomi Campbell not liking you in the industry is not a good thing.”

The Kenyan comedian expressed that they eventually reconnected with Campbell via a mutual friend. However, their relationship felt toxic. This was majorly because she would struggle to seek validation from the iconic supermodel.

She clarified that currently, she is neither friends nor enemies with the supermodel, just not in association.

Majimbo also claims that after their vacation in Malindi, she met Campbell’s friends who informed her that Campbell claimed responsibility for her success. They reiterated that what Majimbo had achieved was due to Naomi’s influence, allegations which Majimbo vehemently denied.

While addressing these allegations, she said, “Everyone has a part to play and I take responsibility for mine. I wouldn’t say she made me but she did play a major role in many things that I did in that space at the time. Naomi did give me a lot of credibility especially when I first entered the industry.”

Majimbo took to her X page to clarify her depression and alcoholism allegations against the supermodel. She stated, “Naomi never force-fed me alcohol. The situation led to the action. My action. As I said, my part was played and responsibility is mine.”

Majimbo, in response to a user who questioned whether she was coerced into deleting her tweets, stated other damning allegations against the supermodel.

“lol no. She threatened to sue and post screenshots of a time I asked for her to help me with some older white executives who were trying to sleep with me. I’m now moving on and leaving it in the past.”
