“Digitalisation and Digitisation of citizen services such as the National Population Register, the system for registration of births and deaths, registration of persons and mitigating cyber-based threats to the security of our homeland requires deliberate and constant collaboration between the two Ministries,”  CS Kindiki indicated.

The interior CS held a routine review meeting on ongoing and planned collaborative and concurrent functions.

In attendance were Eliud Owalo, Cabinet Secretary for Information, Communications and the Digital Economy; and Principal Secretaries Amb. (Prof) Julius Bitok (Immigration and Citizen Services) and Eng. John Tanui (ICT and the Digital Economy).

In 2022, President William Ruto announced the digitization of all government services.

According to the president the move aimed to enhance service delivery to the public and make them more efficient.
