The delegation from the Embassy of the State of Israel led by H.E. Ambassador Michael Lotem was hosted today by Mr. Harry Kimtai, the Principal Secretary of the State Department for Medical Services, Ministry of Health.
The discussion focused on strengthening collaboration and bilateral relations between Kenya and Israel.
Various important areas of cooperation were addressed during the discussions, such as the exchange of physicians specializing in emergency medicine and paediatrics from Hadassah Medical Center in Jerusalem.
Additionally, the Israeli delegation pledged to donate state-of-the-art portable ultrasound equipment for diagnosing trauma and internal injuries during disasters.

The cooperation also extends to training primary healthcare workers on using the donated equipment, in support of Kenya’s Universal Health Coverage initiative.
The Universal Health Coverage initiative is among the Big Four agenda launched by the former government under the leadership of Retired President Uhuru Kenyatta, which aimed to give all Kenyans access to affordable and high-quality healthcare services.
