Kalonzo Musyoka urges rebel Wiper leaders to return to the fold

Kalonzo Musyoka, the Wiper leader  has told errant party members they risked missing out on key opportunities when he forms the next government.

He spoke on Saturday at Athi-Kiaoni Market in Kibwezi during the funeral of Simon Munywoki, a one-time Kanu leader.

Kalonzo said his presidential bid is unstoppable. The Wiper leader said he is confident he will floor President Uhuru Kenyatta in next year’s elections.

“To those who continue insulting me and those who decamped from Wiper, you need to come back to the fold, lest you miss out once we form the next government,” he said.

Others who attended the ceremony are Makueni Governor Kivutha Kibwana, woman representative Rose Museo, Kibwezi East MP Jessica Mbalu, former Water minister Mutua Katuku and Machakos county Chief of Staff Mwengi Mutuse.

All the speakers praised Kalonzo as the right candidate for the presidency and urged the Kamba community to vote for him. Kibwana asked Kalonzo to be wary of some Wiper leaders who undermine others and could spoil his chances of wining.

He asked Kalonzo to rein in Machakos Senator Johnstone Muthama, whom he accused of being a stumbling block in Wiper politics. “I am aware he is lining up Mutula and Mbalu to unseat me in the next polls,” Kibwana said.

“The same is happening in Machakos and Kitui. This can be dangerous for you as more fallouts will come if you don’t stop them.”

Mutula Kilonzo Jnr and Mbalu denied they are being groomed for any posts. “I am not and cannot be anyone’s project,” Mutula said.

He added, “Kibwana should brace himself for battle without name-calling.”

Kalonzo urged elected leaders to work as a team to help him win. He accused some Wiper leaders of being ungrateful. “They forget they got to where they are because of my name,” the Wiper leader said. He told the leaders to stop insulting him.
