A section of Kenyans on social media have turned up the heat on sports Cabinet Secretary Hassan Wario after his personal bodyguard was captured having the time of his life in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
The public took issue with the Sports CS considering that some members of Team Kenya had struggled to secure tickets to Rio, yet his aide was enjoying time in the Brazilian beaches.
Photos of Wario’s bodyguard enjoying his trip to Rio were shared on social media causing Kenyans to bash the CS.
On Sunday, Javelin Champion Julius Yego was left shocked after arriving at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport ready to leave for Brazil only to find that his air ticket was missing.
Apart from Yego, two other athletes also had their tickets missing, causing drama at the JKIA as their colleagues refused to board their plane in a show of dissent.
The incident sparked an online storm with the Minister and officials of the National Olympics Committee of Kenya being accused of incompetence.
Later on, consultations between the NOC-K and the Kenya Airways management saw the issue sorted allowing Yego and his colleagues to fly out for the 2016 Summer Games.
