The Director of the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), Mr. Mohammed I. Amin, conducted a comprehensive meeting with the Regional Criminal Investigations Officers (RCIOs) and DCI Formation Criminal Investigations Officers (FCIOs) to streamline DCI operations across the nation.
The full-day meeting, held at DCI headquarters, was attended by all heads of Directorates.
During the meeting, Regional and Formation Heads presented their plans and strategies, which were developed based on security threat analyses specific to their respective areas of jurisdiction.
The primary objective of these presentations was to ensure that the DCI discharges its investigative mandate in a professional and consistent manner throughout the country.
Mr. Amin addressed the officers on the importance of facilitating citizens’ access to justice and emphasized the critical need to eliminate corruption in investigations to maintain the integrity of the process.
“Always be extremely diligent when carrying out your responsibilities and do not allow anyone to influence you while you are focused on investigating crime. Avoid all forms of corruption, and encourage the officers under your supervision to maintain integrity in all their pursuits,” said Mr. Amin.
He urged all officers to uphold professionalism, embrace a high level of discipline, and cultivate positive community relations to meet the required standards in the fight against crime.
Mr. Amin reiterated the DCI’s commitment to making every effort within its investigative mandate, and in accordance with the law, to ensure the safety and security of Kenya.
The strategic meeting is a testament to the DCI’s dedication to enhancing its operations and ensuring that justice is served efficiently and effectively. With these renewed efforts, the DCI aims to foster a safer environment for all Kenyans.
