IEBC to oversee party primaries, Uhuru Kenyatta

President Uhuru Kenyatta earlier today accompanied by his deputy among other dignitaries gave an insight of the party that is yet to be launched, the vehicle will use to seek re-election during 2017 general elections.

12 parties are expected to fold and merge on 8th September, a day before the official launch of the party on 9 the the same moth.

Addressing the press at the state house, the president said that he and his deputy “have no preferred candidates for any elective positions’ within their party.

President Kenyatta stated that every candidate will be given a fair chance to compete for elective positions through a nomination process that would be overseen by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries (IEBC).
