“The Nairobi Anti-Corruption Court has sentenced former Lukenya area chief Tirus Ndambuki Musyoka to pay a fine of Ksh. 200,000 or serve four years in prison for receiving a bribe of Ksh. 50,000. He was convicted on three counts of bribery and abuse of office,” the ODPP confirmed.
Alongside Musyoka, two former police officers were also sentenced.
Former KBC Police Station Officer Commanding Station (OCS), Chief Inspector Francis Bundi Wilson, and former Joska Police Post OCS, Inspector Kyalo Munyao Nthiwa, were each fined Ksh. 100,000 or face a two-year prison term.
“Principal Magistrate Isabellah Barasa sentenced Musyoka alongside former KBC Police Station officer commanding station (OCS) Chief Inspector Francis Bundi Wilson and former Joska Police Post OCS Inspector Kyalo Munyao Nthiwa,” added the ODPP.
The two officers were convicted on two counts of bribery.
The case, presided over by Principal Magistrate Isabellah Barasa, revealed that the three convicts were guilty of soliciting and accepting a bribe from Peter Muhia Njega in exchange for the release of his cattle, which had been impounded at the KBC Police Station in 2019.
The ruling underscores the ongoing efforts by the judiciary and anti-corruption agencies to hold public officers accountable for acts of corruption, reinforcing the message that no one is above the law.
