Tourism Cabinet Secretary Rebbecca Miano held a meeting with American actress and producer Nicole Murphy on Tuesday morning, who is presently in the country for a visit.

The purpose of this meeting was to enhance the tourism sector through the medium of entertainment.

In a post on her X account, CS Miano emphasized the significance of this occasion for Kenya, highlighting the nation’s global appeal as a tourist destination.

“It is a pleasure to welcome one of Hollywood’s finest! Nicole Murphy’s choice of Kenya underscores our country’s increasing prominence on the global tourism map,” the CS stated in part.

The newly appointed CS expressed that this visit serves as an inspiration for the growth of Kenya’s tourism sector through entertainment, which she considers an underutilized resource.

“This affirmation of our culture, intertwined with nature, inspires our efforts to broaden our tourist base through new partnerships and untapped avenues, including entertainment,” she added.

Nicole Murphy, the former spouse of award-winning actor Eddie Murphy, is accompanied by Lovince Mckenzie, a Kenyan-born filmmaker who has relocated to Hollywood. Their collaboration aims to strengthen her connections with Kenya.

In an interview with a digital media outlet in Kenya, Nicole, who is the producer of the 2001 film Hard Knocks, expressed her eagerness to explore business opportunities in the country and her excitement to share the beauty of Kenya with the world.
