The Cabinet Secretary for Labour and Social Protection Hon. Alfred Mutua has supported the ongoing impeachment of the Deputy President.

Taking to his X account CS Alfred Mutua, has backed the impeachment of Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, citing serious concerns over divisive tribalism and corruption in the country.

In his post on X titled “MOTION: WHY RIGATHI MUST GO!!”, Mutua articulated significant discontent regarding what he characterized as Gachagua’s “despicable actions,” which he asserts are jeopardizing the unity and integrity of the nation.

“No one sends a postcard to God asking to be born a certain tribe. As a country, we have to say NO to the beating of divisive tribal drums that perpetuate inequality, ethnic tensions and hate. The time has come for Kenyans to say ‘enough is enough,” CS Alfred Mutua said on the post.

“Stirring an insurrection and violence, enslaving Kenyans with corrupt deals and attempting a coup are despicable actions that no leader should be allowed to get away with. They go against the ethos of what we stand for as Maendeleo Chap Chap party and as members of the ruling coalition. Kenya deserves better,” he added.

Hon. Alfred Mutua said that the curse of Africa has always been tribalism and corruption and emphasized that Kenya will not be taken back.

“We are one country, one people and it will remain so,” he wrote.

He emphasized that the motion for the impeachment of Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua is not about politics but essential for saving Kenya’s soul.

The CS concluded his post with a statement of hope in the coming days “Kweli, MBELE IKO SAWA,” stating that it is the reason why diverse political parties support the motion.
