CORD has dropped its demands to have fresh voter registration instead they have called for thorough scrutiny of the registered voters.
The calls to have fresh voter registrations were raised after several people claimed to have discovered their Identification Cards already registered for voting either with another name, in another location yet it was their first time to register as voter.
The members of the Joint Parliamentary Select Committee also agreed to retain the presidential petition ruling to 14 days
Both CORD, IEBC and Jubilee have agreed on the need to audit the voter registers so as to wash away any distrust of possible flicker voters in advance of next year’s elections.
Members have also agreed on the presidential petition, voter register, party nominations and number of IEBC commissioners.
On the other hand, CORD s also agreed to a nine-team selection panel to pick new IEBC commissioners.
The team will be composed of representatives from the Law Society of Kenya (LSK), Parliamentary Service Commission, Kenya Private Sector Alliance (KEPSA), Hindu Council, Supkem, Evangelical Alliance of Kenya, Catholic Church and the National Council of Churches of Kenya (NCCK).
