Deputy President Prof. Kithure Kindiki has urged Members of Parliament (MPs) to strengthen collaboration in implementing the Kenya Kwanza Administration’s development agenda.
Speaking during a consultative meeting at Harambee House Annex, the DP noted that prosperity for all Kenyans requires a joint effort by all role players, including political leaders.
He emphasized the importance of continuous and deliberate engagement between the government and MPs, as the people’s representatives, to ensure the timely, orderly, and effective delivery of development programs.
“Inclusive prosperity for all the people of Kenya requires the commitment, dedication, and participation of all role players, among them political leaders. Continuous and deliberate consultations with MPs as the people’s representatives will result in the timely, orderly, and effective implementation of development programs across the country,” reiterated DP Kindiki.
The second in command reiterated the administration’s commitment to forging nationhood by focusing on what unites the country and balancing regional and national interests to realize economic transformation.
“To realize the economic transformation agenda for our citizens, we must forge nationhood, focus on what unites us, and enhance the balance between the sub-national and national agendas,” stated the DP.
In addition, the Government appreciated the representative, legislative and oversight role of Parliament in the implementation of the Bottom Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA) and accelerating completion of development programmes and establishment of new ones.
The MPs, representing constituencies across the nation, emphasized the importance of aligning national and sub-national priorities for equitable growth.
