Kenyatta University Celebrates a Year of Excellence at the End-of-Year Luncheon and Awards Ceremony

As the curtains close on a remarkable year, Kenyatta University gathered its staff, students, partners, and stakeholders for the annual End-of-Year Luncheon and Awards Ceremony to reflect on the accomplishments of 2024 and set the stage for an even brighter 2025.

“As we close the year, I extend my heartfelt appreciation to all staff, students, partners, and stakeholders who have contributed to Kenyatta University’s remarkable journey in 2024,” stated Acting (Ag) Vice Chancellor Prof Waceke Wanjohi.

Chancellor Amb. (Dr.) Francis Muthaura commended the collective efforts that have propelled Kenyatta University to greater heights.

“Your collective efforts have brought us this far, and I encourage each of you to keep striving for excellence. Let us continue to make Kenyatta University a beacon of success and innovation.” Amb. (Dr.) Francis Muthaura, Chancellor

Kenyatta University (KU) has maintained its position as Kenya’s top-ranked university, with an impressive allocation of 8,822 student placements.

The university also awarded its first honorary degree to an international candidate from North America, marking a historic milestone in its commitment to global academic excellence.

Ag. Vice-Chancellor Prof. Waceke Wanjohi expressed her heartfelt appreciation to the Kenyatta University community.

“Together, we have achieved great milestones, from academic excellence to ground-breaking research, vibrant arts, and sports achievements. Your dedication and teamwork are the pillars of our success,” stated  Ag, Vice Chancellor Prof Wanjohi.

Chairman of Council Dr. Ben Chumo applauded the tranquillity and progress experienced under Prof. Wanjohi’s leadership, highlighting the invaluable contributions of the university’s technical team and staff.

“To our amazing staff, especially the technical team, your exceptional input behind the scenes is what makes this institution shine. Your dedication truly embodies teamwork,” Dr. Ben Chumo, Chairman of Council noted.

The event also celebrated the activation of a vibrant Alumni Association and reaffirmed the university’s commitment to impactful research, innovation, and fostering lifelong learning.The university continues to be a hub of excellence, driven by its mission to inspire and innovate.

“As we look forward to 2025, we commit to supporting impactful research, harnessing innovation, and fostering lifelong learning for all,” added AG Prof. Waceke Wanjohi.

Additionally, KU fraternity  took a moment to celebrate and appreciate the outstanding contributions of the late Prof. Shem Migot-Adholla, the  immediate past Chairman of Council.

Kenyatta University remains committed to building on its achievements, honouring its heroes, and striving for new heights in the coming year.
