Health CS Advocates for Universal Health Coverage at Chuma Moto Super Cup in Kakamega

The Cabinet Secretary for Health Dr. Barasa advocated for Universal Health Coverage at Chuma Moto Super Cup in Kakamega County.

The Ministry of Health said that it remains committed to achieving Universal Health Coverage for all Kenyans.

According to the Ministry of Health, the Cabinet Secretary for Health, Dr. Deborah Mlongo Barasa, joined the community at the Chuma Moto Super Cup in Moi’s Bridge, Sinoko Ward, Kakamega County, to raise awareness about the importance of registering for the Social Health Authority (SHA).

Dr. Barasa urged leaders to actively participate with their communities during this festive season to advocate for SHA registration, emphasizing the government’s dedication to ensuring accessible and high-quality healthcare for all Kenyans.

She emphasized that Increased SHA registration directly strengthens our health facilities, ensuring they can offer better services to the public.

The Cabinet Secretary also conducted a visit to the Nzoia Health Center to assess the facility and evaluate the advancement of the Social Health Authority (SHA) implementation.

Throughout her visit, she interacted with the team regarding the obstacles they encounter and sought out potential solutions to enhance healthcare services for the community.

“As we continue to implement transformative health initiatives, addressing facility-level needs remains a priority to ensure accessible and quality healthcare for all Kenyans,” said Dr. Barasa

She concluded her visit in Kakamega County at Matundu Sub-County Hospital, where she promoted SHA registration and toured the maternity ward. The CS had the opportunity to interact with patients and hear their experiences with the SHA program, reaffirming government commitment to making healthcare more accessible and affordable.
