Internet has gone freaking following Bahamian woman dive that saw her finish head first ahead of her stiff competitor in the ongoing Rio 2016 games.
The 22-year-old Shaunae Miller, the Bahamian runner raced to lead in the 400-meter final only to see Allyson Felix of US make a big push over the final 200 meters.
Miller was not willing to give in and see the gold slip past her sweating hands, and to make sure she sealed the precious medal, she gave it a wonderful dive that looked like tripling and kissed the gold.
Felix missed qualifying for the 200-meter by .01 seconds. She missed gold by .07 seconds on Monday. But for Miller, the bumps and bruises of the dive on the track will all be worth it for the gold.
The result was disappointing for Felix, who had hoped to win gold medals at 200 and 400 meters. She did not qualify for the Olympic 200. She still has a chance to win a gold medal in the 4×400 relay, which is scheduled to begin Friday.
