51 Suspects Arrested in Kisauni Crackdown

A multi-agency security team has arrested 51 suspected members of the infamous panga boys gang in Kisauni subcounty following a high conducted raid

The coordinated operation targeted key crime hotspots, including Corner Ya Kisauni, Jocham Hospital, Barisheba, Sunlight, Mwandoni, Junda, Cobra, and Kadongo Grounds.

Authorities seized five tuk-tuks suspected to have been used in a series of phone-snatching incidents, a tactic frequently employed by gang members to evade capture.

“In a continued effort to curb criminal gangs, a multi-agency operation has been conducted in Kisauni sub-county, targeting the neighborhoods of Corner Ya Kisauni, Jocham Hospital, Barisheba, Sunlight, Mwandoni, Junda, Cobra, and Kadongo Grounds, resulting in the arrest of 51 suspects linked to the infamous Panga boys’ gang,” stated the DCI.

“Five tuk-tuks, believed to be used in phone snatching, were seized in the course of the operation,” added the detectives.

According to the detectives, the arrested suspects have been detained at Mjambere Police Station, where they are currently undergoing processing before their scheduled court appearance.

Law enforcement agencies continue to intensify efforts to restore safety in Kisauni and other affected areas.
