Last evening, Speaker Wetangula arrived in Brasília, Brazil, to participate in the Second Brazil-Africa Dialogue on Food Security, a crucial platform for advancing shared strategies in addressing hunger and promoting sustainable agricultural practices across the Global South.
Speaker Wetangula later joined H.E. President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, First Lady Rosângela Lula da Silva, and Brazil’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Mauro Vieira, for the official opening of the Dialogue.
Speaker Wetangula was accompanied by Mp Hon. Sabina Chege, Hon.Zaheer Jhanda, Member of Parliament for Nyaribari Chache, and Mr. Stephen Apopo, Director and chief of staff in the office of the Speaker of the National Assembly.
“We look forward to engaging with global partners to explore sustainable solutions to food insecurity, and to deepen Kenya’s bilateral cooperation with Brazil, while fostering greater collaboration among African nations in building resilient food systems,” Speaker Wetangula.
This dialogue not only aims to consolidate cooperation among the African countries but also to generate technical inputs that contribute to the development of an African Strategy for Food and Nutritional Security and Sovereignty.
