President Uhuru Kenyatta today received the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) report at The State House from The Joint Parliamentary Select Committee (JSPC) that offers recommendations on IEBC officials’ replacement.
The president thanked members of the Committee through a statement sent to media houses on Thursday for their exemplary exertion delivered despite tight deadlines.
The two coalition CORD and Jubilee, however, have agreed to work in unison so as to ensure that electoral report is passed when tabled before the parliament.
CORD leader, Raila Odinga, yesterday had endorsed the report after recommendations were collected from religious leaders, non-governmental organizations, independent institutions and the public on electoral reforms.
The president admonished Parliament to promptly consider the report in accordance with Parliamentary procedures and practice.
