The National Police Service (NPS) recovered three sacks of cannabis sativa in a successful raid carried out in Kisumu County on June 1, 2025.
Officers from Rabuor Police Station acted swiftly on a tip-off from members of the public and raided the homestead of one John Ahanyo Nyadianga in Alendu Village, Kochieng West Location. The officers discovered the illegal substance neatly packed in rolls and seized it on-site.
“The consignment is currently in secure custody, awaiting further police action,” the NPS stated.
Authorities praised the public for their timely information, which made the operation possible.
“We commend the public for their vigilance and cooperation in providing crucial information that led to the successful seizure of the illegal narcotics,” the NPS added.
The police have reaffirmed their commitment to fighting drug-related crimes across the country. They emphasized that collaborative efforts between law enforcement and the community are essential to dismantling illegal drug networks.
“The Service will continue to enhance intelligence-led operations and collaborate with the public and other stakeholders to dismantle drug networks,” the statement noted.
This raid is part of broader efforts by the NPS to maintain law and order and curb the proliferation of narcotics in Kenyan communities.
No arrests were confirmed at the time of the report, but investigations are ongoing.
