Kenya, Norway Deepen Ties Ahead Of Safe Schools Conference

Kenya and Norway are working together in preparation for the fifth international conference on the Safe Schools Declaration (SSD), to be held in Nairobi in December 2025.

CS Murkomen was very pleased to meet with H.E. Ms. Stine Renate Haheim, State Secretary to the Minister of International Development of the Kingdom of Norway, to discuss the strong partnership between the two nations.

CS Murkomen said he looks forward to a very successful conference and to further strengthening the close and collaborative relationship between Kenya and Norway

 

“Kenya and Norway are also partnering on a number of projects that are of mutual interest and great benefit to Kenya, and we look forward to continued engagement and Norway’s valued support,” CS Murkomen.

Beyond the SSD, Kenya and Norway are engaged in several mutually beneficial projects, and CS Murkomen looks forward to continued engagement and Norway’s invaluable support in these endeavours, united by Kenya and Norway’s shared commitment to safe schools and education.

This meeting reinforces the strong bilateral cooperation between Kenya and Norway, particularly in advancing global education security and mutual development interests.

In attendance was Amb. Dr. Fancy Too, Kenya’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations Office in Geneva.
