Kenya-China Relations Elevated To All-Weather Community with Shared Future

In a landmark development, Kenya and China have upgraded their bilateral relations to an All-Weather Community with a Shared Future for the New Era.

Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi welcomed this significant elevation, emphasizing the strength, trust, and shared vision that underpin the partnership.

“During my meeting with H.E. Wang Yi, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China, I emphasized that this upgraded relationship is a testament to our mutual commitment to cooperation, respect, and the pursuit of win-win outcomes that can serve as a model for other African nations,” stated Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi.

Mudavadi also underscored the importance of concluding discussions on financial cooperation before the end of June 2025, as a critical step forward. This move is expected to further solidify the economic ties between the two nations.

The Prime Cabinet Secretary reaffirmed Kenya’s unwavering support for the One-China Policy, noting that it is now formally anchored in Kenya’s Foreign Policy through a Sessional Paper passed by Parliament.

The elevation of Kenya-China relations to an All-Weather Community with a Shared Future is seen as a model for other African nations, showcasing the potential for mutually beneficial cooperation and strong bilateral ties.
