Kenya has reiterated its commitment to maintaining and strengthening its long-standing diplomatic relationship with the United States.
This affirmation came during a farewell ceremony held at State House Nairobi in honour of Mr. Marc Dillard, the outgoing Chargé d’Affaires of the United States to Kenya, who has successfully concluded his tour of duty.
Speaking at the event, the Kenyan leadership expressed appreciation for Mr. Dillard’s role in advancing bilateral cooperation between the two nations.
His tenure saw increased engagement and partnership in critical areas such as trade and investment, security, health, education, and innovation.
The government commended his contribution to fostering mutual understanding and collaboration that continues to benefit the citizens of both countries.
The meeting underscored the shared commitment to deepening trade relations and attracting U.S. investment to support Kenya’s Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA).
This national plan focuses on grassroots economic empowerment, job creation, and inclusive development. The U.S. has been instrumental in supporting this vision through investment in key sectors including the creative economy, agriculture, and technology.
Both nations pledged to continue exploring ways to expand economic opportunities for their people.
Security and peacekeeping cooperation were also a central part of the discussions. Kenya and the United States reaffirmed their collaboration in promoting regional stability and addressing global security challenges.
In particular, they highlighted their joint support for the Multinational Security Support Mission in Haiti, with Kenya playing a leading role. This reflects Kenya’s growing influence in global peacekeeping efforts and its commitment to supporting vulnerable regions.
The farewell was not only a gesture of gratitude to Mr. Dillard but also a celebration of the enduring Kenya–U.S. relationship.
The two countries remain dedicated to strengthening their partnership, built on shared values such as democracy, mutual respect, and development.
As Kenya positions itself as a regional hub and global partner, the relationship with the United States is expected to grow even stronger, creating more opportunities for cooperation, prosperity, and global impact.
