Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) troops under Operation Amani Boni conducted a Civil-Military Cooperation (CIMIC) outreach in Bula Sinai Village, Garissa County. The initiative aimed to strengthen ties with local communities and provide humanitarian support.
The team, led by Major Collins Adoli, delivered essential services, including medical care to residents. Over 20 families received food supplies, while 20 iron sheets were donated to support the construction of a local madrasa.
Major Adoli commended the residents for their willingness to work alongside security personnel.
“You are key stakeholders in addressing security challenges, and your involvement is essential in finding lasting solutions that bring about positive change,” said Major Adoli.
Speaking on behalf of the residents, Village Elder Mr. Dakow Ahmed expressed deep appreciation for the gesture, noting that such support strengthens the bond between civilians and the military in the ongoing fight against terrorism.
Also in attendance was Mr. Gabow Maalin Farah, a representative of the Cross-Border Peace Team, who commended the KDF for going beyond their security mandate to offer much-needed support to local communities.
He noted that these humanitarian efforts help build stronger bonds with residents and uplift their spirits, ultimately diminishing the appeal and impact of extremist groups in the region.
The outreach is part of ongoing efforts by KDF to build trust and foster collaboration with communities in regions affected by insecurity.
Operation Amani Boni continues to combine military operations with humanitarian support to promote stability in the North Eastern region.
