According to the CS, the mandate underscores the government’s commitment to transparency and accountability in public procurement while leveraging technology to eliminate inefficiencies and safeguard integrity in the process.

Additionally, through the automated system, bidder confidence will be strengthened, participation broadened, and Kenyan businesses regardless of size will have equal access to procurement opportunities

“By leveraging a fully automated system, we are boosting bidder confidence, broadening participation, and ensuring that every Kenyan business, big or small, can access procurement opportunities with fairness and clarity,” stated the CS.

With the approval now in place, the State Department of Foreign Affairs is fully cleared to commence implementation of its procurement activities.

“With this approval, the State Department of Foreign Affairs is now fully cleared to implement its procurement activities, in compliance with the directive issued by the Chief of Staff and Head of Public Service Felix Koskei, requiring all Ministries, Departments, and Agencies to publish their plans by 19th September 2025,” stated Mudavadi.

Moreover, the Foreign Affairs docket becomes the first State Department under the Office of the Prime Cabinet Secretary to publish its procurement plan, setting the pace and reaffirming government commitment to open, efficient and citizen focused service delivery.
