The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) National Governing Council convened at State House, Nairobi, for its first meeting of 2026, setting a decisive tone for a year focused on delivery, implementation, and results-driven leadership.

Chaired at State House, the meeting brought together UDA Party Leader and President of the Republic of Kenya, William Samoei Ruto,  Deputy Party Leader Prof. Kithure Kindiki, Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi,  party governors, Members of Parliament, and Members of County Assemblies.

The Council took firm stock of the Kenya Kwanza Plan, anchored in the 2022 UDA Manifesto, and sharpened its focus on accelerating implementation of reforms across key sectors.

Discussions centered on driving business and investment, creating jobs, expanding access to affordable healthcare, delivering decent and affordable housing, strengthening education, scaling up access to clean water, advancing modern infrastructure, and securing sustainable food systems for all Kenyans.

Speaking during the meeting, President William Ruto reaffirmed his commitment to working with leaders across different political parties.

“We undertake to work with other leaders and political parties in building a more cohesive, more united and more transformed Kenya,”  President Ruto said.

He emphasized that the journey to a first-world economy is firmly grounded in clear policies, disciplined implementation and measurable outcomes that improve the daily lives of citizens.

In a call for accountability and issue-based politics, the President challenged the opposition to present their scorecard to Kenyans.

“We challenge our competition to present their score-card, and disclose to Kenyans what better plan they have in making our country better,” added President Ruto.

President Ruto rallied the party leadership to move faster, act bolder and remain firmly focused on results.

The meeting reinforced a shared commitment to stability, opportunity and inclusive progress, as the Kenya Kwanza administration continues to translate policy into tangible gains for every Kenyan.
