Kanu sue Jubilee over party colours

Yesterday, Kenya African National Union (KANU) filed a suit before the Political Parties Dispute Tribunal seeking to bar Jubilee Party from using its colours.

In his urgent application, Lawyer Kiprop Marimoi said on Thursday, that JP was using red, black and green, which are originally KANU colours.

Kiprop said that the colours will confuse voters and the general public, adding that it would be in the interest of justice for the tribunal to issue restraining orders.

The party, unveiled newly branded campaign vehicles and other material ahead of its launch on Saturday.

Uhuru Kenyatta, ahead of the party launch said that, the outfit’s slogan will be ‘Tuko Pamoja (We are together)’, adding Kenyans will have a platform that embraces inclusivity.

About 12 parties have declared interest in the merger ahead of the 2017 general election set for August 8.
