Stoke City’s poor start to the season continued as they were hammered 4-0 away at Crystal Palace. Mark Hughes’ men now sit at the bottom of the Premier League whilst Crystal Palace move up to 8th.
Palace built on last week’s away win at Middlesbrough with two first-half headers from James Tomkins and Scott Dann in the first 20 minutes.
Despite an improved performance from the Potters in the second half, they found themselves three behind when James McArthur’s deflected effort found the top corner.
The Eagles were in full flight and they made it 4-0 in the 75th minute when former Spurs player Andre Townsend curled his effort past Shay Given.
Stoke did hit back with a consolation in stoppage time after Marko Arnautovic’s spectacularly finished from outside the box.
Mark Hughe’s side will look to rise from the foot of the table with a win against West Brom on the 24th of September while Palace will look to maintain their momentum when they travel to struggling Sunderland.
