Danny Drinkwater to revive Paul Pogba form

The Sun reported that Manchester United are plotting a £30m move for Leicester’s Danny Drinkwater., whom they are willing to pay £150,000-per-week as they plot to solve the Paul Pogba problem at Old Trafford, according to reports from The Sun.

The Red Devils are said to be willing to pay him £150,000-per-week as they plot to solve the Paul Pogba problem at Old Trafford.

The Devils  who splashed out a world-record £89m to re-sign the Frenchman from Juventus during the summer window had a nice beginning but woes began after Manchester City defeat.

Despite the lavish fee and the hype surrounding the player, however, his showings in the red shirt have been underwhelming thus far.

Pogba is yet to find the net or lay on an assist, and many are beginning to question Jose Mourinho’s decision to play him as one of a deep-lying midfield pair.

At Juve, the Les Bleus ace was allowed a freer role in a three-man central unit, which facilitated him to get forward regularly.

And reports claim Drinkwater is now being eyed as a potential option to play as the anchor behind Pogba in Man United’s midfield.

The 26-year-old – another player to have left the Manchester club after failing to make the grade – was a key cog in Leicester’s title win last season and has since been called up to the England squad.

Man United are understood to be willing to pay £30m and are even ready to raise the midfielder’s £90,000-per-week wages to £150,000-per-week.
