In a statement on Wednesday, KTB Chairman Jimi Kariuki said they had tapped Ms Radier from Scanad Kenya, where she is the managing director.

“After a thorough selection process, we are glad that Ms Radier is taking the leadership of KTB as we continue to make progress in the tourism recovery journey. I have no doubt that she is the right person to take the helm at KTB as the corporation celebrates its 20th anniversary this year,” he said.

Mr Kariuki said Ms Radier would officially take office on December 1, 2016 while Ms Nzioka, the acting KTB chief executive, who was appointed early this year by Tourism Cabinet Secretary Najib Balala would continue to serve as the agency’s marketing director.

Ms Radier takes over from the former managing director Muriithi Ndegwa, who left office in February after a six-year stint. Ms Radier will bring to KTB 18 years experience in marketing, strategy and operations.

She also served at JWT, Scanad Advertising Tanzania, McCann Kenya Ltd and Lowe Scanad of Uganda and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree and a Masters of Business Administration from the Nairobi University.
