Kiambu Governor, William Kabogo, has been cleared the charges he was facing in court after he was connected to the death of the late university girl, Mercy Keino.
The Migori court acquitted the five key suspects including Kiambu Governor, William Kabogo, over the murder of University of Nairobi student, Mercy Keino.
Magistrate Peter Ndwiga, Kehancha Law Courts, said it was possible that Ms Keino was hit by a vehicle, though it was not clearly established.
According to the government Chief Pathologist, Dr Johansen Oduor, who conducted the autopsy on the body testified that it was difficult to determine what killed Ms Keino because of the multiple fractures she had sustained.
The autopsy could also not ascertain whether she was killed elsewhere and her body dumped on the highway or she was hit by a motor vehicle.
Director of Public Prosecutions Keriako Tobiko had ordered a public inquiry to establish how the student was killed after police failed to link suspects to the murder.
