Residents from Busia in Malaba today proceeded in a demonstration following the death of five guards who were killed on Sunday night.
The bodies of the five, who were guarding shops in the town and believed to have been killed at around midnight, where discovered by the residents early in the morning.
The five were killed by unknown people.
After alerting the police, they then took to the streets of the border town on Monday morning to protest the killings and demanded justice for the victims.
The protesters blocked the busy Eldoret-Malaba highway, which connects Kenya and Uganda.
This forced the police to fire in air to scare away the protesters following the build up in jam after the trucks were blocked from moving.
