Voting took place yesterday in by-elections as the residence, in four wards went to ballots to elect new ward representatives.
Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) emerged victorious in three of the four ward by-elections.
Turkana County
ODM clinched victory at Kolokol Ward by-election in Turkana County.
ODM candidate, Josephat Emuria, garnered 1,715 votes against Nangiro Long’e of Jubilee who got 1,336 votes as Peter Loteng’an, independent candidate came third with 101 votes, and Ford Kenya’s Michael Ebenyo was fourth with 74 votes.
Kajiado County
ODM’s candidate Peter Kuseyo emerged winner in Mosiro with 1,079 votes beating Koilekan Koroin of Jubilee who managed 1,046 votes.
Tana River county
Things turned around in Jubilee favor in Sala and Jubilee got their first landslide win since the launch of the party. The party candidate Fauzia Sadik emerged winner with 1,184 votes against Ibrahim Ware of Safina who got 210 votes.
Wiper’s Kiranso Mchiru was third with 200 votes while ODM’s Mohamed Dabaso was fourth with a paltry 96 votes.
Kisii county
In another voting, Naftal Nyaberi Onkoba, also of ODM, clinched the Nyacheki win with 2,216 votes, beating Maxwell Magoma of Jubilee (1,173), Calleb Onguti of KNC (979) and Peter Bosire of NVP (695).
