The Cabinet Secretary for Education, Dr. Fred Matiangi yesterday issued new directives that a geared towards mitigating chances of irregularities.
Speaking yesterday, the CS ordered that there should be no mathematical sets and or Clipboard within the exam room that have not been thoroughly searched.
The CS said that it is through these materials that some students and pupils sneak in some written piece of papers, Mwakenya.
The examination body declared that candidates would be required to carry their geometrical instruments and writing materials in a see-through pouch.
Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) has also banned the use of clipboards and geometrical sets from examination rooms as well as the use of mathematical tables and calculators during examination papers for which they are not required.
“The use of mobile phones within the precincts of the examination centres for all those involved in the exercise has also been stopped,” said the CS.
