Following a heavy downpour in Kakamega County more than 10 people are nursing injuries after a church collapsed on Sunday night.The incident happened at Matunda area in Likuyani Sub-county where church leaders of Imani Pentecostal Assemblies of God were holding a meeting.
Most of those injured were leaders since the church service had already been concluded.
Confirming the incident, Likuyani OCPD Meshack Kiptum said that four victims sustained serious injuries and were rushed to Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital in Eldoret with the rest being taken to Matunda Hospital and Kitale Referral Hospital.
The incident comes as the country continues to grapple with the aftermath of floods that have rocked different areas in the past one week leading to casualties.
