Martha Karua yesterday expressed her support to the re-election of Uhuru Kenyatta with his Deputy President, William Ruto in 2017.
Narc Kenya leader, and a fierce critic of Jubilee government said that she that she respects President Kenyatta who even recognized her as a national hero during Mashujaa Day celebrations this year.
Karua denied having affiliation to the Coalition for Reforms and Democracy (CORD) clarifying that she has never joined the opposition coalition despite being a critic of the Jubilee administration.
“I am not a member of any alliance, even when we worked with the opposition, we always emphasized that Narc Kenya was a friend of the opposition,” said Karua.
The U-turn
The 2013 presidential candidate who garnered over 40,000 votes dropped her decision to re-vie for the same post and instead opted out for gubernatorial seat.
The iron lady said that the county people will speak wisely, hence she is ready to face off with the already interested parties among them former Devolution CS Anne Waiguru, Kirinyaga Central MP Joseph Gitari and Muriithi Kagai in the Kirinyaga gubernatorial position.
Another u-turn came as a blow to those who eagerly waited to welcome her in opposition. Karua was a stun critic for IEBC officials but denying joining CORD, she said that it was out of the fact that the officials could not hold fair and free elections.
