Cord management team faults IEBC on forthcoming election preparations

Cord management team has faulted the current Independent  Elections and Bounderies Commission (IBEC) saying that there are undergoing plans that meant to favor some individuals come 2017 elections.

In one of the grievancies, the team says that IEBC has limited itself in involving the opposition parties, especially Coarlition for Reforms and Democracy (CORD) in monitoring voters registrations.

“The IEBC has done everything, to replacate the flaws, the malpractices and the fraud committed in previous elections,”

The team claims that, there is an attempt to ammend the elections act that was passed recently.

Further the team alleges that exhauustive investigation of the register as required to verify voters identifications, saying that IEBC wants to involve unqualified firm to carry out a random vefification of the register.

Demands

The team demands that the IEBC stalls any implemenation of the elections act until the new commissions assume office, among them being award of tenders and advertisement.

Blaming the ‘tyran oof numbers in parliament’ the team said that elections are serious business, hence such misconceptions should not be applied in charging election act to favor some indivduals.
