‘Trump Fish’ restaurant opens in Iraqi Kurdistan

‘Trump Fish,’ a new restaurant that  beckons diners to feast on common carp prepared in traditional Kurdish fashion opened this week.

Freshly caught from the nearby Duhok reservoir, the fish is slowly baked near open fire for over 1.5 hours before served whole. Considered less popular fare in America, the carp is a common culinary delight in Europe and Asia.

The Kurdish-language signage says the “yuge” carp, pictured, can be had for 12,500 Iraqi Dinars, or just over $10.50 — cheaper than the $199 Trump Steak package once offered on QVC.

With the unusual name  in Duhok city in Iraqi Kurdistan, the ‘Trump Fish’ opened in mid-November.

A local news source called the Duhok Post shared several photos of the fish shop.

The owners of a new restaurant in Iraqi Kurdistan hope his famous name will help boost sales of seafood.

The restaurant uses a cartoon version Trump’s face as a logo — though his hair and eyebrows are a bright yellow rather than the burnt orange the president-elect favors.

“Trump Fish” reportedly serves up grilled carp at $10.50 a plate that are caught from a nearby lake.

During the campaign, Trump won fans among the Kurdish populations of Iraq and Turkey by supporting their call for an autonomous state.

His repeated vows to defeat ISIS also cheered the Kurds, who have been targeted along with other religious and ethnic minorities by the murderous jihadis.

The fish shop wasn’t the only thing named after the president-elect, as local media reported that a number of parents have named their newborn baby boys “Trump.”
