Joho tell Uhuru Kenyatta to stop riding on donor funded projects

Mombasa governor, Ali Hassan Joho has bashed the Kenya Head of State  President Uhuru Kenyatta for trying to steal credit from county projects.

Joho dismissed the three projects that were commissioned by President Uhuru Kenyatta in Mombasa County on Thursday insisting that they are fully funded by donors including the World Bank.

He was speaking at Bamburi area in Kisauni sub-county where the president launched storm water drainage project

According to governor Joho, President Uhuru’s government has ignored Mombasa county people compared to other parts of the country.

He further noted that there were are no projects started by the national government in the area.

The Mombasa governor further claimed that national government is currently riding and hiding on donor funded projects for its own political interests.

“We want to see the billions that have been disbursed to other areas today brought to Mombasa,” said Joho, who dismissed President Kenyatta and other Jubilee leaders’ visit in Mombasa as a “tourism trip to benefit our hotels”.

“We launched the Kongowea market almost a year ago and I’m told traders have not been allowed to operate from there. Can the county hasten the process,” said Uhuru.
