A section of residents of Tana river come in defense of embattled area governor Dhadho Godhana who had frosty relationship with the MCAs in the last one year.
The governor had on Saturday accused the MCAs for failing to manage the ward bursary funds. He said each word had been given sh 10 million.
But on Sunday,23 MCAs threatened to impeach the governor whom they among other issues accused the governor of abuse of office, misappropriation of funds and working in isolation.
They also accused Dhadho of using underhand tactics to make them look bad in the eyes of their electorate.
They further accused him of delaying in releasing the (ward bursary) funds in full until towards the end of the financial year.
But addressing the press in madogo town, led by Salat Garacha hit out at the MCAs whom they accused of using threats ,intimidation and underhand tactics to frustrate the governor.
“what the governor merely did was to asked them to account for Ksh 10 million bursary fund. Instead of clearing the air, they have resorted to issuing empty threats to impeach him. as residents we are keenly watching and following the unfolding, we will stand with the governor to the end,” said Salat.
He said the MCAs have failed in their in their legislation, representation and oversight roles and were determined to make sure that the governo doe not perfom just like them.
On his part Idris Guyo said that the governor has so far initiated several prjects some almost cpompekte and others ongoing.
“as we speak the county is upgrading several roads across the county, there is also a major laughter house under construction in in Madogo, bursaries have also been issued out with every MCA receiving 1o million under the ‘push up’programe. surely isn’t this the kind of development our people were yearning for,” said Idriss.
He added: “we expect these MCAs to work closely with the Governor Godhana to provide solutions to the myriad of challenges facing the residents and not turn the house into a cash cow because that is what they are doing,”.
On his part Ibrahim Kuta said the same MCAs had frustrated former governor Hussein dado something he said had led to little development.
