Two people died on the spot Sunday after a vehicle they were traveling in was involved in an accident along the busy Nairobi -Namanga highway.
The vehicle, a pickup with four occupants was heading towards Namanga direction from Kajiado town when it lost control and rolled severally after it swerved to avoid hitting some animals which were crossing the road.
According to an eye-witness, the Toyota pickup which was being driven at a high speed rolled after the driver swerved to the side to avoid hitting some goats which were crossing the road.
Two occupants of the vehicle died instantly while the other two were rushed to Kajiado Referral hospital in a critical condition.
Kajiado Central Sub-County Police Commander David Loronyokwe confirmed the incident and urged motorists to exercise extra caution on the road especially during the drought season as many animals grazed by the road side.
He further called on livestock owners to take care of their animals along the road to avoid such preventable accidents.
The bodies of the deceased were moved to Kajiado Referral hospital mortuary.
